David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Wildlife Artist of the Year
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year (WAY) exhibition, is an annual art event that culminates with a prominent award ceremony attended by a mix of London’s finest art connoisseurs, rising stars and social media personalities, as well as the world's wildlife-lovers and DSWF loyal supporters. It follows a week-long exhibition held in London’s heart at Mall Galleries, only a leafy walk away from Buckingham Palace.
For one week it becomes the place to see, and be seen, as our earth is on everybody’s agenda. During WAY week DSWF celebrates the majestic beauty of our natural world expressed through the eye of global artists that underline its visual power. Using a wide variety of techniques and styles, from recycled material sculptures to intricate pencil drawings; from vast oil paintings to mixed media, acrylics on glass to upcycled metal – all artwork is fully inspired by the world’s wildlife.
From all entries, a stunning selection of shortlisted artworks make it into the spotlight through an esteemed panel of judges.
Since its inception in 2008, Wildlife Artist of the Year has raised more than £2 million for our conservation efforts across Africa and Asia, attracting thousands of artists, art buyers, conservationists, and visitors.
Each added voice can have a transformative effect on how the wider public is encouraged to engage with DSWF work, by falling into the stunning world of wildlife art.
